Whistler - July 2004

Page | 1 |

Summers in the Pacific Northwest are to to beat. Sunny, decently warm. It's like living in a post card. Along with Nigel, Lisa and Ian we drove up for a few days at WhistlerBlackcomb. In 2010 the Winter Olympics will be held here.

Whistler is also really nice in the summer. I've been wanting to go mountain biking up there, so I loaded up the Saab with my Stumpjumper and Becky's Trek (that she got with her Jetta back in '97) and off we went. We met up with the Bamford's in Whistler.

It is fantastic drive from Vancouver to Whistler. I highely recommend it. Very senic.

I found a long trail called Comfortably Numb - which is how I felt after completing the ride. It is a 24 km tough ride. A little more technical than I prefer, but a rewarding run.

Back in the village it is time for Nigel and me tosome Cubans (cigars that is) and relax. A truly great place to hang out.

On the way back we stop at a train museum for a little fun. Then it is back to Seattle.
